About Slow Carb Checker

Independent, simple, and built for quick answers

Slow Carb Checker is a simple, independent tool and knowledge base that helps you quickly tell whether a food fits the core principles of the Slow-Carb Diet. It's built for clarity: no calorie counting, no complicated macros—just straightforward guidance tied to the well-known five rules.

What we do

  • Provide a fast "yes/no/it depends" check aligned to SCD principles
  • Offer plain-English explanations and allowed alternatives
  • Maintain a compact library of guides (rules, allowed foods, drinks, cheat day, and FAQs)

What we don't do

  • We're not a medical or nutrition practice
  • We're not affiliated with Tim Ferriss or the publishers of The 4-Hour Body

How we source content

We base our guides on the widely cited five rules of Slow-Carb and the core meal template (protein + legumes + non-starchy vegetables). Where there's ambiguity, we default to the principles ("if you have to ask, don't eat it") and favor whole foods over processed substitutes.
